Digitálne kľúče a bezpečnosť / Digital keys and safety
Doplnok 1 k R161 rozširuje definíciu kľúča na mechanické a/or elektronické riešenie. Digital key je určený na prenos do viacerých zariadení prostredníctvom osobitných procesov. Primárny používateľ môže kľúče autorizovať; táto technická rola sama neurčuje, kto je vodičom, vlastníkom či prevádzkovateľom vozidla.
Supplement 1 to R161 broadens “key” to a mechanical and/or electronic solution. A digital key is designed for transfer to multiple devices through dedicated processes. A primary user can authorize keys; this technical role does not by itself identify the driver, owner or vehicle operator.

Manufacturer predkladá opis autorizácie, odvolania, hraníc funkčnej prevádzky a bezpečnostných opatrení pri odvolaní. Prenos kľúča do zariadenia musí prebehnúť autorizáciou a musí existovať proces jeho odvolania.
The manufacturer documents authorization, revocation, functional boundaries and revocation safety measures. Transfer to a device must use authorization, and a revocation process must exist.

Odvolanie digitálneho kľúča nesmie spôsobiť nebezpečný stav. Predpis požaduje analýzu zníženia rizika s použitím noriem funkčnej bezpečnosti a bezpečnosti zamýšľanej funkcie, ako sú uvedené v citovanom znení. Primárny používateľ musí vedieť zistiť počet autorizovaných registrovaných digitálnych kľúčov.
Revocation must not create an unsafe condition. The text requires a risk-reduction analysis using functional-safety and safety-of-intended-functionality standards as identified in the cited version. The primary user must be able to identify the number of authorized registered digital keys.

Pri odomknutí zariadenia brániaceho neoprávnenému použitiu sa vyžaduje zistenie autorizovaného registrovaného digitálneho kľúča vo vozidle or v jeho bezprostrednej blízkosti: menej ako 6 m. Toto pravidlo má výnimku pre diaľkovo ovládané manévrovanie a parkovanie vymedzené v R79. Nie je to všeobecný zákaz prenosu digitálneho kľúča na väčšiu vzdialenosť.
Unlocking the device against unauthorized use requires detection of an authorized registered digital key inside or in close proximity to the vehicle: less than 6 m. An exception applies during remote-control manoeuvring and parking as defined in R79. This is not a general prohibition on transferring a digital key over a longer distance.

Prepojenie s R155 / Connection to R155
Doplnok 5, účinný od 26. septembra 2025, mení bod 5 prílohy 9: účinnosť systému nesmú nepriaznivo ovplyvniť kybernetické útoky, hrozby ani zraniteľnosti. Účinnosť bezpečnostných opatrení sa preukazuje splnením technických požiadaviek R155. Toto konkrétne znenie samo nehovorí, že každý digitálny kľúč musí mať samostatné typové schválenie podľa R155.
Supplement 5, effective 26 September 2025, changes Annex 9 paragraph 5: cyber-attacks, threats and vulnerabilities must not adversely affect system effectiveness. Security measures are demonstrated by fulfilling R155's technical requirements. This wording does not itself say that every digital key needs a separate R155 type approval.
